REPORT ON CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME
KEEP
THE EARTH CLEAN
Introduction
The
mother earth is enriched with a wide variety of species, trees ,etc But man
thinks it as his monopoly to live on earth .The only reason of pollution is
mankind himself .Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural
environment that cause adverse change .Pollution can take the form of chemical
substances or energy, such as noise ,heat or light. Pollution is often classed
as Point Source or Nonpoint source Pollution.
Objective
The main objectives of this
conscientization programe are:
·
To make the pupils aware of the
significance of keeping the earth clean
·
To make them aware of their part as
human beings in preserving the natural resources.
·
To make them aware of the measures they
can take against pollution
·
To make them aware about there after
effects of pollution.
Organization of the Activities
As the first step of
conscienticzation programme is selected a contemporary relevant topic that is
none other than Keep the Earth Clean .We collected materials and distributed
the topics among us. Raheena R.S selected the portion water pollution and soli
pollution Viji. V selected Air pollution and Sumin and Jisha selected the
remedial measures
We
decided to conduct the programme on 27/01/2017 at XIII I .Thus we invited HM
and several teachers .As we decided we conducted the programme on 27/01/2017 at
11 am ,that is on the third period .The programme started with an introduction
given by Sumin K John and conducted with the words of Jisha Manoj.
FEEDBACK
Feedback given by the students are
amazing .They gave a great and loud applause .They asked many doubts and we
could clear them as well.
FINDINGS AND
SUGGESTIONS
We have to explore the main sources
and causes of air pollution ,water pollution and land pollution .Air pollution
comes from both natural and human made sources.
Principally Stationary pollution
sources are Motor vehicle emissions, chemical plants, coal –fired power plants,
oil refineries, petrochemical plants, nuclear waste disposal activity factories
and other heavy industry.
Some of the more common soil and water
contaminants are chlorinated hydrocarbons (CFH) heavy metals, zinc, arsenic and
benzene. Ordinary municipal landfills are the source of many chemical
substances entering the soil environment.
The
main cause of water pollution are industrial waste ,sewage and waste water,
mining activities ,oil leakage, chemical fertilizers and Pesticides, Radioactive
waste, urban development.
Best
practices for reducing pollution are Recycling, Reusing, waste minimization, Mitigating,
Preventing, compost.
CONCLUTION
The mother earth is the abode of varied
number of species of plants, animals etc. With a varied diversity it is the
only planet known to us which supports and sustains life. This is only due to
nature and its unanimous gifts. But we the mankind underestimate it and pollute
it and add a burden of debt to ourselves .So to continue our run in this life
are must conserve and work to protect our environment.
